It’s common to hear a variation of the phrase, “if you want to change the world, work on yourself.”
I happen to agree with this – I believe we don’t see the world as it is but as our belief system (our lens of our thoughts, actions and habits) dictates we see it. In other words, we are ultimately in control of how we experience this thing called life.
But what does that really mean? Where do you start, what do you look for and how can you translate the lesson into a clear and digestible thing?
Because sometimes it’s frustrating to receive the cryptic advice on how to open ourselves up to this possibility. Don’t get me wrong, I love some of the esoteric, ancient medicine man type speak that sounds really awesome and renders you speechless with an epic mind blow. I was listening to another awesome episode of Having it ALL the other day when I was struck by some of the thoughts that the guest, Mr. Bill Jamison was sharing.
He was talking about how he’s been able to get to the stage in life that he’s currently in (which is a badass yet balanced husband, father and business owner) and he mentions “getting out of his own way” in order to reach that place.
